Good coach with some success but can’t handle failure. Will not take accountability, for example telling a player that he wasn’t the one throwing interceptions. Very two faced, will talk about the respect he has for you and how great you are to you and your family and then turn around and tell the team that you were a bad leader and did not care about winning. Trash talked every senior class after they left. Did not support players, the team had crazy attrition rates and transfers. Did not win a conference game from 2018-2022, with an entire class going winless in conference. Went three years without wins, with one class winning four games total (all in one year) and the class below them winning two games total (also all in one year). Could not scheme to his roster or create plays that work. This included running inside zone on third down and twenty to gain on his own 25 yard line against the top defense in the conference (Trinity University-2021). Is not a coach you play for, but merely a coach that is there. As an alumni, I know that myself and many other players from my class and classes before and after intend to never talk to him again since graduating, but regularly contact our old position coaches. His leaving of Sewanee was celebrated by alumni and parents and current players alike.
