Coach Haller is the worst coach I’ve ever played for out of any sport at any level. I didn’t play for her at her current school, it was at a previous one. She took a program that the previous head coach built up so strongly and tore it apart cruelly. She spoke profanely to and about players on a regular basis and truly didn’t do much coaching. As soon as one mistake was made in a game, she’d sit down and refuse to coach the rest of the game. Practices were punishments, not coaching a team to improve. The assistant coach she picked at our school was a total creep and when confronted by her athletes about how he made them feel uncomfortable, she ignored it. If you wanted to be on the team, you were silenced and you had to deal with it. That was the culture she instilled - not a positive, healthy one that formed student athletes and promoted growth - rather, a toxic culture that made you feel worthless and inadequate, which she often told us that we were. As an adult that played for her many years ago, I can’t believe schools would still hire her as she continues to have a similar track record of creating an unhealthy culture that is not conducive for a true student athlete.
