Coach Eldridge has coached at many schools. She most recently left Wofford. If she is ever hired again, do not play for her. She was deficient in all aspects of coaching especially at a D1 program. Recruiting - did not put forth effort to promote the beautiful school she represented. Often would recruit 1 or 2 girls that looked like her and asked them to find additional recruits. The last class she recruited at Wofford had no desire to be part of a D1 program based on their effort and commitment. She rarely attended recruiting events or hosted camps or promoted her program within the local community. Financial responsibility - we often questioned how the program money was spent. girls never were given lacrosse cleats or turf shoes. She found money to buy them lulu lemon yoga pants so they wouldn't look like "bums" (but she used a different word) when traveling. Girls were often not fed appropriately or at all unless coaches were called out. Knowledge: her instruction was often do better, run faster, stop the ball. She had no idea how the modern game worked or how to make her players better. She never did scouting reports or watched film or corrected her own players to improve them. She emphasized selfish play and statistics only without looking at the big picture - so you caused 3 turnovers but you also turned the ball over 10 times and missed 10 shots on goal. Mental Health - Don't even know where to begin but she has completely ruined the mental health of many of her former players. She encouraged poor eating and health habits. Required the team to misinform health professionals about illnesses and injuries. Often told girls they were a distraction and worse. Used homophobic slurs. Physical Health: Did not care about injuries. Had team members play on injuries which often led to lifelong problems. Asked players to lie to medical staff about COVID illnesses and injuries. Academics - did not care one bit about academics. Would deny players academic opportunities. Would often change practice times on the spur of the moment to correspond to her sole needs. Wofford was a small college and did not have many class offerings, but she insisted on holding practice during class blocks instead of after the school day bc it suited her. Girls found it hard to take classes or had to miss practice with penalty. Organization: Completely unorganized. Very difficult to face the challenge of being a student athlete if your coach is constantly changing things at the last minute. She (and the Athletic Director that allowed her behavior for too long) were a poor representation of Wofford. She would lie to players and families and caused a hostile environment. It certainly will leave many of the alum with a bad taste for Wofford because of her.
