Courtney is an excellent sales woman. She knows just what to say to get you to commit but once you arrive on campus as her athlete she’s a different person. Not only will she belittle you as an athlete & student, she will also punish you for standing up for yourself during moments of her cruelty. You’ll be forced to play through injuries and must push aside personal issues to ensure you’re not “bringing it to the field”. Additionally, as a player you will: -run until you pee your pants from exhaustion -endure sadistic conditioning workouts such as 5 mile punishment runs followed by “conditioning Jenga” which entailed log rolling 100 yards and then sprinting back in X time (you’re dizzy and unable to run straight & will fall - if you don’t run it in time, you will continue to do it) -never get priority when choosing classes even as an athlete but will receive criticism if you have class during practice. -be forced to watch film in front of everyone and have her rip apart the things you do wrong in the most condescending, unhelpful way. And trust me, I’m not exaggerating. My friends at UMD who’ve won several national championships didn’t condition as hard as us & they couldn’t even keep up with me during winter break. She may have been an all-American 20 years ago but her style of coaching, lack of empathy and emotional intelligence needs improvement. Especially in todays society where tearing down young women will get you canceled. Oh and SHU is not the academic choice you want to make either. Food is prison quality and off campus housing is ran by slum lords. Do not go here unless you’re in the PA or Actuary programs or you really want to experience some good old trauma. Btw I was very in shape, transferred and had a successful career elsewhere. I hated the sport when I left SHU - now I no longer do.
