I was recruited by Aston and was promised a fun and exciting college experience. I can say half of the time was just that. The other half was mentally and physically draining. My freshman year was one of the hardest times in my life and my sophomore and junior season were decent. My senior year was a nightmare. I was bullied by other teammates, lied to by the entire coaching staff, and was not helped in any way improve on the field or mentally in the game. Even after four years of blood, sweat, and tears I didn’t even get to play in my own senior night game. How embarrassing that was for me in front of all my family, friends, and professors . I even had one professor apologize to me on behalf of the university. I guess I should mention I did not play in any games my entire senior year after showing up and participating in every team activity and practice. When I asked Aston how I can improve to see play time he told me I was doing just fine. He was unfair in treating other teammates with better treatment- all the way to letting one of the players break rules and pardoned them. His style of play was to pass the ball to our top goal scorer and hope for the best. When he would talk after games or practice we would be standing there listening to him talk for 30+ minutes. I would not recommend this coach to anyone. I lost my passion for a sport that I once loved and completely despise soccer now due to this coach. The school is great, but I would not recommend going there until Aston retires.
